“The Hearth Has Wings” — the founding anthem · cast 28 June 2026
Cast on Sunday 28 June 2026 — the founding anthem, the first piece of music Circe's Shadow ever wrote from a sky. That morning the heavens read: Sun, Mercury and Jupiter gathered in Cancer; the Moon in Sagittarius; Venus in Leo; Mars at the very last degree of Taurus, crossing into Gemini by nightfall; Saturn and Neptune in Aries; Uranus in Gemini; Pluto retrograde in Aquarius.
The dominant mood: ancestral water under a travelling moon. Cancer carrying the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter puts the emotional centre in memory, bloodline, home and the tenderness of what we inherit — but the Sagittarius Moon refuses to stay inside the house. It wants the road, the horizon, the honest song. Between those two the theme wrote itself: home is not a place you return to — home is a fire you learn to carry.
Why this style — a mythic soul-jazz road anthem with cinematic piano and ritual drums. Every choice maps an archetype. The deep earthy kick and low frame drum are Mars at the last degree of Taurus: hoofbeat, locked jaw, the body before the words. The verses grow faster and more syllable-dense as the song runs — because Mars crossed into Gemini that very evening, the drum turning into language, hoofbeat becoming speech. The chorus opens wide in Venus-in-Leo gold: the big soulful vocal, the choir, handclaps and brass swells — her instruction taken literally: don't just survive, beautify; make grief into brass, make loss into light. Saturn and Neptune in Aries forge the final crescendo — a disciplined piano ostinato under a rising warrior-dream of strings — and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius keeps the underworld inside the collective: the choir arrives at the end like a tribe re-forming underground. The slow 6/8 sway hidden inside the 4/4 is the Cancer water moving under all that fire.
The arc the sky demanded: a child of the hearth becomes a messenger of the horizon. The singer begins inside the ancestral house — the Cancer stellium, names in the spoons, ghosts in the hall — is called out by the Archer Moon, tries at first to keep the past by holding it still, and learns the Cancer lesson the hard way round: the past survives only when it moves — through voice, rhythm, courage and story. By the last chorus they are no longer guarding a private memory. They are the bridge: hearth and horizon, body and word, ancestor and future.
The lyrics
Spoken intro
Tonight, the Crab keeps the fire.
The Archer sharpens the moon.
The Lion warms her golden throat,
and the Bull stamps once at the edge of the room.
Somewhere under the floorboards,
the old names are breathing.
Somewhere beyond the hills,
the road is calling them home.
Verse 1
I was raised by a house with water in the walls,
by a mother-tongue humming through the floor.
There were names in the spoons, there were ghosts in the hall,
there was bread on the table and a lock on the door.
Grandfather said,
"Child, keep the lamp low.
Not every flame has to fight the wind."
But the moon had a bow,
and the night had a road,
and my heartbeat packed its bags within.
Cancer sun in a bowl of rain,
Mercury whispering through the family pain.
Jupiter swollen like a tide in the chest,
saying, "Bless what you carry, then carry it best."
So I took one song and a coal from the grate,
one old prayer and a silver plate,
one cracked photo in a travelling frame,
and I walked till the dark remembered my name.
Pre-chorus
Oh, the roots said stay,
but the stars said move.
The wound said hide,
but the drum said prove.
If the past has a pulse,
let it beat through me.
If the house has a soul,
let the soul go free.
Chorus
Home is a fire with wings,
home is a river that sings.
Carry the water, carry the flame,
carry the ones who carried your name.
Under the Archer Moon,
we rise from the old cocoon.
Lion heart, river soul,
broken pieces turning gold.
I am the road and the room,
I am the seed and the bloom.
Home is a fire with wings,
and tonight, that fire sings.
Verse 2
Mars had a hoof in the Taurus ground,
low drum, locked jaw, don't make a sound.
Then Gemini sparked at the tip of the tongue:
word became arrow, arrow became lung.
Now the beat goes quick and the breath goes wild,
truth comes dressed like a runaway child.
Saturn in ram horns, Neptune in flame,
one builds the altar, one dreams the name.
Uranus laughing through a twin-wire sky,
messages flashing where the old roads lie.
Pluto below in the crowd unseen,
turning the future through the under-machine.
Venus in Leo with her gold mane high
says, "Don't just survive, child — beautify.
Make grief into brass, make loss into light,
make the whole dark room stand up tonight."
Pre-chorus 2
Oh, the roots said remember,
the road said become.
The wound said be careful,
the blood said run.
If the past has a rhythm,
let it move our feet.
If the stars have a story,
put it into the beat.
Bridge
North Node drifting through Pisces water,
South Node counting every scar.
One says, "Fix it."
One says, "Offer."
One says, "You are more than what you are."
So I stopped polishing every sorrow.
I stopped naming every bruise.
I let the river take my armour.
I let the choir choose.
Then the old house opened its window.
Then the road walked through the door.
Then the ancestors started dancing,
not behind me —
on the floor.
Outro
The Crab keeps the fire.
The Archer keeps the road.
The Lion keeps the courage.
The Bull keeps the load.
The Twins bring the lightning.
The Ram guards the spark.
The Water remembers.
The song leaves a mark.
Home is a fire with wings.
Carry it.
Carry it.
Carry it.
